Denmark has approximately 5,5 million inhabitants which amounts to about 1,1 % of the total EU population.
Denmark is a Constitutional monarchy and a modern democracy. The first Danish Constitution was signed on 5 June 1849 and has been amended three times since then. The political system is a multi-party structure where several parties are represented in the Danish parliament, the Folketing. 12 parties are currently represented in the Parliament.
